Lyle Isaacs教授简介

LYLE ISAACS was born in New York Cityin 1969 and graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1987. At theUniversityofChicagowhere he obtained his B.S. in Chemistry in 1991, he performed undergraduate research in the laboratory of Professor William Wulff. Lyle spent a year at theUniversityofCalifornia,Los Angelesworking in the laboratory of Professor Francois Diederich as a Department of Defense predoctoral fellow and obtained his M.S. degree in 1992 before moving with Diederich to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) inZürich,Switzerland. Isaacs obtained his Ph.D. from ETH in 1995 and received the Silver Medallion dissertation award from ETH for his dissertation. After an NIH postdoctoral fellowship with Professor George M. Whitesides atHarvardUniversity(1995–1998), he joined the faculty at theUniversityofMarylandwhere he is currently Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Chemistry Graduate Program. Lyle Isaacs research interests encompass supramolecular chemistry with an emphasis on cucurbit[n]uril molecular containers, self-sorting processes, and drug delivery applications.
